The Same Page
Last updated 17 June 2026
These terms are an agreement between you and GB Software (“we”, “us”), who operates The Same Page (the “service”). By creating or joining a session you agree to them. If you do not agree, please don't use the service.
Please also read our Disclaimer and Privacy Policy, which form part of these terms.
The Same Page is a tool for understanding, not a professional service. It is not therapy, counselling, legal advice, professional mediation, or a crisis service, and it is not a substitute for any of them. If you or someone else may be in danger, stop and contact your local emergency services. See the Disclaimer for the detail.
The Same Page helps two people who are in disagreement understand each other better. It does this by guiding each person through a private, structured conversation with an AI mediator, and by offering neutral re-phrasings of what each person has said — only the re-phrasings each person explicitly approves are ever shared with the other person. The result is an optional written summary of what you both understand, where you still differ, and what you have each agreed to try.
That is the service's stated and only purpose. You agree to use it for that purpose, and not for any other.
You must be at least 18 years old and able to enter into a binding agreement to use the service. By using it, you confirm that you are.
Both people in a session use the service voluntarily. Don't invite anyone into a session who has not freely agreed to take part, and don't use the service to pressure, monitor, or control another person.
You agree not to use the service to:
We may pause, end, or refuse access to a session at any time if we reasonably believe these terms are being broken or that continuing would be unsafe.
The mediator is powered by an AI language model. AI output can be wrong, incomplete, or misleading, and re-phrasings are suggestions for you to accept, edit, or reject — not statements of fact, advice, or our opinion. You are responsible for reading anything before you approve it for sharing, and for everything you choose to say, approve, send, agree to, or do as a result of using the service.
We do not endorse, verify, or take responsibility for the content of your conversations, the re-phrasings the AI proposes, the summaries you approve, or the final document. Those are yours.
Using the service does not create a therapist–client, counsellor, lawyer–client, mediator, or any other professional or fiduciary relationship between you and us. We are not a party to whatever is going on between you and the other person, and we take no side.
The service is not designed for emergencies or crises and is not monitored in real time by a human. It includes automated safety checks that may pause or end a session, but you must not rely on it to detect or respond to danger. If you are worried about your safety or someone else's, contact your local emergency services or an appropriate crisis line — see the Disclaimer.
The service may help two people understand each other. It may not. We make no promise that using it will resolve your disagreement, repair a relationship, change anyone's mind or behaviour, or lead to any particular result. Any decision you make during or after a session, and any change in your relationship, circumstances, or real-life situation that follows, is yours and the other person's — not ours.
A session involves two people and shared outcomes. You keep ownership of what you write. You grant us a limited licence to process it solely to operate the service for you (including sending it to our AI provider to generate responses), as described in the Privacy Policy. Because a session is shared, either person can permanently erase the whole session — both private conversations and the document — for both of you. Don't put anything into a session that you would need to keep, unless you have downloaded it.
The service is offered in early access, on an “as is” and “as available” basis. We may change, suspend, limit, or discontinue any part of it, and sessions and data expire automatically. We are not liable to you for any change to, or unavailability of, the service.
To the fullest extent permitted by law, the service is provided without warranties of any kind, whether express or implied, including any implied warranties of satisfactory quality, fitness for a particular purpose, accuracy, and non-infringement. We do not warrant that the service will be uninterrupted, secure, error-free, or that its output will be accurate or suitable for any purpose.
To the fullest extent permitted by law, we will not be liable for any indirect, incidental, special, consequential, or punitive loss, or for any loss of profits, data, goodwill, or opportunity, or for any emotional, relationship, reputational, financial, or other harm arising from or related to: anything said by the AI or by the other person; any summary or document produced; any decision you make or action you take during or after a session; any change in your relationship or real-life circumstances; or any unavailability of, or error in, the service.
To the extent we are found liable to you despite the above, our total liability for all claims relating to the service is limited to the greater of the amount you paid us to use it (if any) in the twelve months before the claim, or £100 (or its local equivalent).
Nothing in these terms limits or excludes any liability that cannot be limited or excluded by law — including liability for death or personal injury caused by negligence, for fraud or fraudulent misrepresentation, or for any of your statutory rights as a consumer. Some jurisdictions don't allow certain limitations, so some of the above may not apply to you, and nothing here affects rights you have that cannot be waived.
To the extent permitted by law, you agree to indemnify us against reasonable claims, losses, and costs arising from your misuse of the service or your breach of these terms — for example, using it to harm, coerce, or surveil another person, or submitting content you had no right to share. This does not apply to the extent a claim results from our own wrongdoing.
How we handle the information in a session is set out in our Privacy Policy and Cookie Policy, which form part of these terms.
We may update these terms from time to time. When we do, we'll change the “last updated” date above. Continuing to use the service after a change means you accept the updated terms.
These terms, and any dispute arising from them or from your use of the service, are governed by the law of England and Wales, and the courts of England and Wales will have jurisdiction — except where mandatory law in your country of residence gives you the right to bring proceedings, or requires a different law to apply, in which case nothing here removes that right.
If any part of these terms is found unenforceable, the rest continues to apply. Our not enforcing a term isn't a waiver of it. These terms, together with the Disclaimer, Privacy Policy, and Cookie Policy, are the entire agreement between us about the service. You may not transfer your rights under them; we may transfer ours to a successor that agrees to honour them.
